Photo released of the new Volvo XC90 front

Volvo recently released an image of the front end of their upcoming new SUV, XC90. The design is distinguished by the T-shaped lights, named “Thor’s Hammer”, by the Volvo design team after the shape of the hammer used by the Viking god of thunder, Thor. It is looking pretty good so far.

The old XC90 certainly has some age to it, and starts to look like dated brick-building on the road, so the design upgrade is very welcome, I’m hoping that the rest of the car will resemble a modern XC60, which is a beauty (for a Volvo).

Various engine options will be available within the petrol and diesel range, most of them will be turbocharged. The top-range engines combines a 2.0 four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor (similar to the Lexus RX400h-series), the solution will produce 400 horsepower.
